MEET TIME’S MOST ADVANCED CARBON BIKES

TIME Bicycles founder Roland Cattin has blazed a bold trail with his inspired choices in unique construction techniques and European production. For him, the bottom line was not about financial motivation and about the pursuit of peak performance.

It is a tribute to his vision that TIME continues to lead the way after more than 30 years and is widely known for building the best carbon bikes in the world.

The processes we use at TIME are unique in the bicycle industry. Not because they’re unproven or secret (they’re quite common in aerospace and high-end automotive), but because they’re expensive and require a different level of commitment, equipment, and training.

TIME is fortunate to have taken this path from the start, gathering decades of skill and unique engineering experience. With this unique “outsider” perspective, we recognize that industrial techniques can certainly produce a light, responsive and comfortable frame that rides well, but in the context of composite engineering, TIME’s products are superior. This opinion is not just ours. It is shared by carbon engineers around the world – our manufacturing processes yield a product that is safer, smarter and stronger.

BECAUSE OUR BIKES ARE BETTER

Both the Braided Carbon Structure and Resin Transfer Molding processes allow TIME to control every single strand of carbon used in the construction of a frame. With over 30 years of experience, TIME has raised the bar in carbon fiber creation to match the level found in Formula 1.

Braided Carbon Structure is our term for weaving fibers into complex two-way ‘socks’. These tubes are easily coordinated with different materials – TIME currently chooses from 16 threads to perfectly match our layers. This process allows something that is unprecedented in the cycling world. continuous, unbroken fibers that run the length of a structure.

CMT

COMPRESSION MOLDING TECHNOLOGY

We use forged carbon in many parts of the frame to increase strength and longevity. Our CMT forged carbon post heads have 20 times the fatigue life of steel or aluminum and are lighter than both. In addition, the 60% fiber blend eliminates crack propagation.
