ADHX VS ADHX 45 — WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

FIRST, THE MOST IMPORTANT SIMILARITY.

There are several similarities between the ADHX and the ADHX 45. However, the most important quality they share is the same manufacturing process. At TIME, we have a very unique carbon fiber manufacturing process unlike any bike manufacturer in the world.

The Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process is ubiquitous in aerospace and high-end automotive applications, but is almost unheard of in cycling. The RTM process transforms the soft, dry fiber frame into the solid, strong and flexible bicycle frame. The way we do this greatly reduces the chance of defects in the structure and enables us to create superior frames.

As agility becomes paramount, chainrings are lengthened and a small margin of reactivity is traded for extra tire clearance. It’s this ‘allroad / fast gravel’ machine that has to deliver the goods in the widest variety of conditions. For riders looking to add variety to their riding, a 35-38c file tread in a lightweight tire casing offers great comfort and control in smooth dirt without feeling heavy on the pavement.

ADHX 45

Riders who spend most of their time on unimproved roads will appreciate the bulk and grip that a 45c tire offers. Gravel-oriented frames achieve the necessary tire clearance by tapering and lengthening the seatstays and chainstays and widening the fork crown. The resulting increase in frame deflection combined with the damping and grip of larger tires make light work of rough roads, even as they make the ADHX 45 less suitable for tarmac.
